An advocate for free markets, Sherry holds that taxes should only be used to pay for core government functions. Sherry will work to use any revenue surplus for tax cuts so we can leave more in taxpayers’ pockets.

As Chair of the Coalition to Defeat the Anderson County Sales Tax, Sherry organized conservatives to successfully defeat the county-wide tax increase. 

Sherry’s goal is to make the South Carolina tax code flatter, fairer, and more competitive with neighboring states.

Safe roads are a vital connector for our families, our businesses and our economy. Unfortunately, our roads and bridges have not been prioritized. 

For decades the politicians ignored our roads and allowed them to deteriorate to a dangerous level. When things reached a crisis level, the only solution they would consider was increasing our taxes.

Despite a nearly $2 billion state budget surplus, Anderson county’s crumbling roads, bridges, and sewer systems have been ignored for far too long. Sherry will fight to eliminate millions of dollars of wasteful earmarks, redirecting that money to where it needs to go - widening roads and repairing infrastructure to ensure our roads and bridges are safe.

Sherry will work to stop the Columbia spending machine and reduce the size of state government.

Too many politicians are unwilling to buck the system and keep voting with the establishment for larger and larger budgets. As our Representative, Sherry will put ordinary South Carolinians first by being a tireless opponent of unnecessary spending.

Sherry believes that all life is a gift from God and begins at conception . She will be unwavering when it comes to protecting the unborn.

Sherry will lead efforts to remove your tax dollars that are being allocated towards funding abortions and abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. As a Crisis Pregnancy Center supporter for many decades, Sherry knows ultra-sound machines help mothers and fathers in unexpected pregnancies.  

As a mother and grandmother, Sherry sees every day the critical importance a quality education has on a child’s future. As a legislator, Sherry will work to create the best opportunities for all South Carolina children focused on reading, writing, math, science, history and physical education.

Unlike some politicians, Sherry believes parents should decide what’s best for their children, and schools need to respect parental rights.

Sherry has experience with public, private and home-school education. She knows from personal experience that children flourish when parents have the ability to select the learning environment that best suits their child’s needs.

Sherry will and has actively advanced efforts to protect children from sexually explicit curriculum and teachings. We must be relentless in stopping the sexualization of our children. Children's hearts and minds must be protected.  

Sherry is active in caring for children. She is the mother of four and grandmother to five grandchildren. Additionally, she is Co-Chair of the Anderson County Foster Care Review Board.

Parents have the fundamental right to decide their children’s education, upbringing, and healthcare. When it comes to protecting our children, choosing medications, selecting education options, and instilling moral values, parents know what’s best. That’s why Sherry will fight for a Parental Bill of Rights.

Unfortunately, children and families have been tossed around. Children need and deserve protection. As your State Representative, Sherry will protect children and families.

Sherry Hodges takes our constitutional rights and freedoms seriously and will defend your right to carry.

As citizens, we have a duty to protect our families, our homes, and our country. As a patriot, gun-owner, Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), and active member of National Association for Gun Rights, Armed Women of America (AWA), Anderson Charter, Women for Gun Rights and Palmetto Gun Rights (PGR).

Our country depends on honest elections. Our society cannot long survive once the voters lose faith that their votes are not being fairly and accurately counted. Sherry supports efforts to guarantee that our electoral system is honest by requiring ID of all voters and closing our primaries so that only Republicans are allowed to vote in Republican primaries.

Sherry will protect our God-given rights enshrined in our Constitution, including the freedom to operate businesses as we choose, the vehicles we drive, and the right to defend ourselves and loved ones from harm. Sherry will fight against attempts to silence conservatives and will be as fearless in office as she is on the campaign trail.

Protecting our borders and standing up for the rule of law are critical. Immigrants who follow the rules and abide by our laws have a place in America, Sherry will work to make sure law enforcement has the tools they need to stop those who invade our country illegally. Local, state and federal law enforcement must have our support. 

Sherry Hodges believes everyone has the right to choose their individual medical needs. She will never support mandated masks, vaccines, or quarantines. Sherry will actively fight against any additional attempts to add a Health Czar to South Carolina's bureaucracy.  Health needs should be addressed through education and personal choice, not government mandates.
